The ambiance of this place is really nice! I've been a few times and the service is consistently good. The food to me is okay - the burger is good and is something I would recommend getting. Sunday's they have a special dinner menu which is to be shared family style. The steak could use more seasoning but the potatoes and Caesar salad is really good. I like this place for a quick pop in when I'm on East!

Uptown Sports Club is a great spot to grab a drink and some Louisiana-style food for brunch or dinner while downtown. The interior is super aesthetic, the service is great, and the food is reasonably priced for a downtown restaurant in Austin. FAST FACTS: * Parking - street parking nearby * Reservations - available online through OpenTable * Online ordering - available online through ToastTab * Dog friendly SERVICE - I arrived at 12:15 pm for a 12:30 pm reservation for two on a Saturday and was seated right away. The workers were all super pleasant! Julie was a great server and made sure we had everything we needed from start to finish. PRICING - The total was $57.38 after tax ($4.38) but before tip for a chicory & chocolate freeze ($10), cup of gumbo ($7), downtown burger ($14), fried chicken biscuit sandwich ($14), and cinnamon roll ($8). For a downtown Austin restaurant, I feel like the pricing was reasonable. CHICORY & CHOCOLATE FREEZE (7/10) - Overall, this was a delicious milkshake! It had a malty chocolate flavor but the chicory didn't really come through. I'd order this again if I wanted a cool sweet treat before or after my meal. GUMBO (7/10) - This was a great gumbo and the cup was a great size as a quick appetizer to split. The chicken was super tender and the broth had great flavor but the sausage got kind of lost (which is surprising considering they serve Franklin sausage links). I'd order this again if I was craving gumbo but it wasn't something I'd go out of my way for. FRIED CHICKEN BISCUIT SANDWICH (9/10) - WOW! This was the unexpected highlight of the meal! The biscuit is buttery and flaky, the fried chicken is SO juicy and tender, and both the aioli and hot honey bring so much contrast in flavor to the overall sandwich. The bacon gets kind of lost. If you've ever had Bird Bird Biscuit, this is right up there as a top chicken biscuit sandwich! I'd order this again in a heartbeat! DOWNTOWN BURGER (5/10) - This was super disappointing... especially after the chicken biscuit sandwich. It was incredibly basic and the beef patty had almost zero flavor. The bun was okay and the bacon added some flavor along with the other toppings (cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickle, mayo, and mustard) but absolutely nothing stood out. I wouldn't order this again. CINNAMON ROLL (8/10) - I didn't know what to expect for this because I couldn't find any pictures but I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was! It's served in a bowl and is unbelievably soft and gooey... just how I love my cinnamon rolls! It's served with flaky salt on top which was INCREDIBLE! I'd order this again! This was my first time at Uptown Sports Club and I'm happy I tried it. I probably wouldn't go out of my way to visit again but I'd stop by if I was in the area. I'd recommend it to others just to try the fried chicken biscuit sandwich and cinnamon roll but it wouldn't be at the top of my list for Austin restaurant recommendations.

My wife and I were in the mood for some Cajun food since it was around Mardi Gras, and this place did not disappoint. First off, the sandwich I had was unfortunately on a limited menu so odds are the Fried Oyster Poboy won't be available, but man it was good. I was considering this or the fried shrimp poboy, but im pretty sure I made the right call. By the way, getting hot sauce on it made it that much better. Now let me tell you about the Rice and Beans, oh ... boy ... those rice and beans were absolutely fantastic. I had to basically fight my wife off in order to get more bites because it was seriously that good and tasty. I will say this, the prices were pretty up there but I'm not gonna take off points since everywhere is expensive these days. TLDR: This place was seriously awesome and I absolutely wanna get their food again, especially the rice and beans.

Husband and I came here during the week they were doing their Mardi Gras specials. Husband got a fish poboy and I, being a vegetarian, got their fried green tomatoe sandwich. Also shared a side of red beans and rice. For drinks husband got a regular cold brew with milk and I got a dirty chai latte. I thought my drink was delish! Husband thought his was just OK, but I don't know what he was expecting with just coffee and milk. We got the red beans and rice first. And honestly, it's probably the best red beans and rice I've ever tasted. And that's coming from somebody who is born in Louisiana. Granted I have not had red beans and rice in quite a while. But my husband and I were just blown away by the taste of those red beans and rice. The sandwiches we ordered were quite good, but unfortunately they did not come with any sides like chips or fries. Considering that we paid upwards of $15 to almost $20 for the sandwiches, I would definitely have suspected that it would come with a side. The price, the sandwiches were pretty good. Honestly, the thing I was probably the most disappointed with was the king cake. It wasn't that it didn't taste good, it definitely did. But we paid $10 for a very small slice of it. I wasn't aware the slice would be that small when we got it. For $10, I was expecting something a little bit bigger. we finished it off in just a couple bites. I think we can see ourselves coming back in the future. I like the vibe of it and the food was pretty decent.

Truly no words to describe how much I love this place. Went during lunch time with a large group and had phenomenal service. The lunch rush was intense but we got our food in a decent amount of time and were paid plenty attention too. The. Food. Was. AMAZING. To start we got some yummy oysters that I would definitely get again. For my main meal I got a bowl of gumbo and the tuna crudo. Unfortunately I did not take a picture but boy I wish I did. The gumbo is great but could have a little more veggies. The tuna was so good I'd come back specifically just for that! The others at my table got po'boys and burgers and genuinely enjoyed their food as well. For drinks, el Jimadero's were delicious & refreshing. Overall we had an amazing experience. If you're looking for somewhere with super tasty food, cute vibes, and great service, I'd definitely recommend this place!

Loved the feel of Uptownwarm & inviting atmosphere with friendly staff. Definitely has a NOLA vibe not only in decor but the menu too also a full bar for refreshments We ordered from the appetizer & mainsections each serving was DELICIOUS . We were waaaay to full for dessert We all needed a refreshment so beer & martinis with blue cheese stuffed olives got us going. Starting with raw oysters freshly shucked tasty & briney served with mignonette sauce our FAV also crab dip a bowl of gumbo served packed full of the taste of New Orleans. Moving along to red beans & rice a NOLA staple we're xcellant, a icy cold wedge with blue cheese dressing dripping down the sides still making my mouth water , fried green tomato por boy with bread shipped in from NO, complete with shredded lettuce & mayo lastly the Franklin BBQ Brisket sandwich (a special of the day) inflipping crediable This was a truly creole treat, if you in the downtown area near 6th street head on in with your appetite & chow down!!!!

Who would've guessed that such a sports bar-named restaurant would give off such cute and chic New Orleans vibes? My friend took me here this weekend, and we were so pleasantly surprised by how nice and good brunch, service, and drinks were. They are really busy, so it's smart to get a reservation. They serve brunch until 3PM, which is also another pro. We actually missed our original reservation time, but they were kind and able to accommodate for a later afternoon time. We sat at the bar, and the bartender was so nice and attentive. He gave us a really good breakdown on some Italian liquors, and the Frozen Moose we ordered was so delicious. It tasted like a frozen rumchata with a lot of yummy homemade vanilla bean whipped cream. I could've had like four of these by myself. We waited for a really long time for food, which is the main reason I am giving -1 stars. I was getting so hangry watching a member of staff slowly plate our food because we definitely were waiting for close to half an hour, and the steak came out really cold. It was cooked medium rare and it also came with two eggs (I chose sunny side up) and super delicious crispy hashbrowns. Our bartender/server noticed the long wait and apologized, and I do think the food was good enough to make up for the wait. Their menu is really awesome, too. I would've had a difficult time choosing what to get because everything sounded so good. I definitely recommend! A really vibey and solid brunch spot.

Delicious food that was very satisfying. We came here on recommendation from some friends who live in the area and they were so correct! Food is delicious. I got the friend green tomato po boy and my mom got the Franklin BBQ sandwich daily special they had that day. Both were delicious and satisfying. Service was great! Our waiter, I believe his name was Brian, was so funny and nice. We had fun conversations with him and he made sure we had everything when we needed it and our waters were always full. The ambiance is great in here. Like stepping into vintage New Orleans when you open the doors. I appreciated the amount of decor and work that went into making this place what it is. We had a fantastic time and I'm already planning a trip to go back!
